C. Dan Haron
President, CIGNA Pharmacy Management
Dan Haron was appointed President of CIGNA Pharmacy Management in March of 2010. In this role he is responsible for leading all aspects of CIGNA’s integrated pharmacy benefits division, including CIGNA Tel-Drug Home Delivery Pharmacy. In addition, Dan will lead CIGNA’s coordinated approach to managing specialty medications, covered under both CIGNA medical and CIGNA pharmacy benefits, to improve health outcomes and lower total health care costs.
Dan is a licensed pharmacist with a wide range of pharmacy-related and leadership experience. He joined CIGNA in 2007 as vice president of operations for CIGNA Tel-Drug Home Delivery Pharmacy. There, he led a dramatic customer service turnaround for the “mail order” business and established a platform for growth. His responsibilities also included the Pharmacy Service Center, compliance and contracting for pharmaceutical manufacturers and the pharmacy retail network.
Before joining CIGNA, Haron was senior vice president of pharmacy at Brooks and Eckerd Pharmacy, where his responsibilities included pharmacy operations, managed care and pharmacy business administration, clinical programs and pharmacy system development. A pharmacy industry innovator who is passionate about superior customer service, he was a founding member of Surescripts, the country’s largest electronic prescribing network. Dan was recognized in 2004 with the REX Excellence in Patient Care Award and in 2002 with the REX National Pharmacy Satisfaction Award.
Dan is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. In 2001 he was the recipient of the J. Rumbart Alumni Achievement Award from the college.
