Vice President & Head of Pharmacy
William (Bill) Wolfe is the Vice President and Head of Aetna Pharmacy Management. In this role Wolfe is responsible for the operations, growth and profitability of Aetna’s Pharmacy business including the creation and execution of sales, marketing and clinical strategies as well as oversight of Aetna Specialty Pharmacy & Aetna Rx Home Delivery.
Prior to joining Aetna, Wolfe had accumulated a diverse background in the Pharmacy industry with leadership roles at organizations ranging from PBMs, national retail chains, and large health plans. Most recently, at BeneCard PBF, a privately‐held PBM technology company, he led clinical services, sales, marketing, planning, and rebate contracting, as well as, providing guidance on networks, mail order and specialty pharmacy operations. Wolfe also served as President, PBM services for Catalyst Health Solutions Inc. prior to its merger with SXC to form Catamaran. In this role, he was responsible for clinical services, financial business operations, networks, pricing, product development, and marketing. While at Catalyst, Wolfe played a critical role in helping complete integration and synergy pull through relative to recent PBM acquisitions.
In addition, Wolfe held various senior leadership roles during his 13 years at Rite Aid Corporation, where he led payer relations, contracting, managed care, government affairs, and PBM operations. He successfully managed key strategic initiatives for Rite Aid, including developing innovative pharmacy reimbursement models, launching a prescription discount card program, and assisting with PBM and retail acquisition integrations. At Keystone Health Plan, Wolfe led Medicare and Medicaid operations, provider relations, regulatory affairs and legal, and contracting. He was responsible for significantly growing the plan’s membership and expanding the provider network and plan service area.
Wolfe earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degree from Pennsylvania State University.Meet The Rest of the Board
