Aetna Pharmacy Management
Randy Hyun is the president of Aetna Pharmacy Management. Aetna’s pharmacy management division offers pharmacy benefit management services, specialty pharmacy, and mail order pharmacy services to over 14 million members, processes 250 million prescriptions annually, and drives over $25 billion in pharmacy spending. Randy is responsible for the operations, growth and profitability of Aetna’s pharmacy business including the creation and execution of sales, marketing and clinical strategies, as well as, oversight of Aetna Specialty Pharmacy and Aetna Rx Home Delivery. In addition, the Aetna Pharmacy Management team works closely with Aetna’s medical division to provide integrated benefits to members and to drive patient safety and quality initiatives that result in a positive member experience.
Prior to Aetna, Randy spent 18 years at McKesson Corporation in a variety of senior leadership roles. Most recently, Randy served as senior vice president and general manager, provider solutions, responsible for McKesson’s specialty pharmaceutical business supporting physician offices and specialty pharmacies. The provider solutions business included specialty focused businesses, including specialty pharmaceutical distribution, physician office infusion management, in-office dispensing programs, group purchasing organizations, and technology and services to oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology and ophthalmology specialties.
Randy also served as senior vice president and general manager for McKesson specialty health’s multi-specialty and pharmaceutical and biotech solutions, responsible for pharmaceutical and biotech facing businesses including reimbursement and access services, health informatics, health outcomes research, and manufacturer marketing programs. Randy also served in other key roles at McKesson, including vice president and general manager for McKesson extended care solutions, a technology division that provides home health and hospice agencies with the clinical and financial tools to manage care and reimbursement. Randy also spent time as senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development for McKesson provider technologies, where he led strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to McKesson, Randy spent time at a boutique management consulting firm and at a healthcare e-commerce startup. Randy earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently lives in the Houston, Texas area but splits his time between Aetna’s Wellesley, MA and Hartford, CT offices.Meet The Rest of the Board
