April Alexander is Assistant Vice President of State Affairs for PCMA and brings a strong background of state-level advocacy to the State Affairs team. In this role, Ms. Alexander directs legislative and regulatory advocacy in multiple states on a variety of policy issues impacting PBMs. She also represents PCMA at a variety of national intergovernmental organizations.
Prior to joining PCMA, Ms. Alexander served as Regional Director of State Affairs at Molina Healthcare, Inc., where she directed advocacy activities for several Molina health plan subsidiaries and advised corporate leadership on health policy and state political issues. Before that, she served as the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the California Association of Health Plans, where she led advocacy on behalf of health plans that participate in California’s state-sponsored health programs. Prior to entering the private sector, Ms. Alexander served as Licensing Counsel at the California Department of Managed Health Care and served the Office of the Governor as an Executive Fellow working on criminal justice issues.
Ms. Alexander holds a JD with distinction from University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law and a BA in Political Science from California State University, Chico. In her free time, she enjoys being a CrossFit athlete and all things related to fitness and health.Meet the Rest of the PCMA Staff
