Introduction to the PCMA Rx Research Corner

When you read a new study or see an interesting data point, have you ever asked yourself: “How did the authors reach that conclusion?” Or, “How can I think about this within a broader context?” And probably the most important question of all: “Why should I care about this?”

I am Amanda Frost, Assistant Vice President and head of the Research Team at PCMA. I’m delighted to share my new blog The Rx Research Corner with you.

Quality research is essential to PCMA, and I strongly believe that good data and shared knowledge create the foundation for the work we do. PCMA’s focus is on promoting the value that PBMs bring to millions of Americans as we work towards affordable access to prescription drugs for patients and payers across the country. All topics on this blog will be in the prescription drug space, but they will range from pricing to policies and to patient issues such as access and equity.

My goal with this blog is to take a closer look at complex data and research findings, beneath the headlines or even the toplines. I will simplify it where I can, add context where it’s needed, and point out nuances and details that otherwise might be missed. Doing the research is important, understanding and applying it is how we move forward.

I hope you take the time to read my posts. I would welcome suggestions for future topics and questions about what I’ve written, and always encourage deeper discussion.
