PCMA President and CEO David Marin to Speak at Axios Future of Health Summit

On Wednesday, May 13, Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) President and CEO David Marin will join a group of health care leaders at the Axios Future of Health Summit in Washington, D.C., for a conversation on “redefining the high-stakes world of health care.”

As part of that discussion, Marin will highlight how pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) have been evolving to meet the changing needs of patients and employers. With comprehensive PBM reform now law and substantial business changes over the past several years, the PBM industry has transformed dramatically and is playing a growing role in building a more affordable, accessible, and transparent health care system.

Importantly, tomorrow’s event also offers a platform to highlight why it’s time for Congress to address the drug companies’ ongoing War on Generics. Drugmakers have spent heavily pointing the finger at the PBM industry as a way to distract from a range of anti-competitive patent abuse schemes they use to keep drug prices high. Delivering real affordability to American families means finally stopping Big Pharma’s efforts to rig the system and extend ever-higher monopoly pricing far longer than the law intended.
