PCMA Signs CEO Action Pledge Supporting More Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

(Washington, D.C.) — Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) President and CEO JC Scott joined other organization and company CEOs to sign the CEO Action Pledge supporting more diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

The CEO pledge outlines a specific set of actions the signatory CEOs will take to cultivate a trusting environment where all ideas are welcomed, and employees feel comfortable and empowered to have discussions about diversity and inclusion.

“PCMA has made a firm commitment in the past year to focus more attention on diversity and inclusion,” said Scott. “From the creation of our own internal Diversity and Inclusion Task Force focused on improving our work environment to organizing our member companies around the goal of addressing healthcare disparities, PCMA is taking steps as an employer and as a platform for the PBM industry to advance greater diversity and inclusion. As we celebrate Black History Month in February, PCMA is glad to be joining so many others in the CEO Action Pledge.”

The specific outlines in the CEO Pledge include:

  • Continuing to make our workplaces trusting places to have complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity and inclusion.
  • Implementing and expanding unconscious bias education.
  • Sharing best—and unsuccessful—practices.
  • Creating and sharing strategic inclusion and diversity plans with our board of directors.
