PCMA Urges Congress to Pass More Medication Assisted Treatment Access

(Washington, D.C.) — As the “National Call-In Day” takes place in support of the bipartisan “Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment Act,” reintroduced in February by U.S. Senators Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Representatives Paul D. Tonko (D-NY) and Michael Turner (R-OH), Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) President and CEO JC Scott released the following statement:

“PCMA is glad to join with advocates from around the country as part of this national day of focus on substance use disorders. America’s pharmacy benefit managers strongly support efforts to improve affordable access to life-saving medication-assisted treatment and overdose-reversal treatment for substance use disorders. Lowering obstacles for medical professionals to prescribe appropriate treatments decreases the risk of overdoses.”
