(Washington, D.C.) — The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) announced today that PerformRx President Jim Gartner, MBA, R.Ph., is joining the trade association’s board of directors.

“The addition of PerformRx to PCMA’s Board of Directors further exemplifies the diversity and competitiveness of pharmacy benefit companies and their ability to serve the unique needs of patients, employers, and plan sponsors nationwide,” said JC Scott, PCMA President and CEO. “As a registered pharmacist, Jim Gartner will add a breadth of expertise and perspective to PCMA’s board that will add value to our association and the hundreds of millions of patients PBMs serve.”

Founded in 1999, PerformRx was created to work with Medicaid plans and an at-risk member base. The company quickly expanded its client portfolio to include Medicare Part D plans in 2006, and since then has grown its portfolio of clients to include commercial payers and employer groups.

“I am very much looking forward to reflecting PerformRx’s unique vantage on PCMA’s Board of Directors and making a positive impact for our industry and the patients we serve,” said Gartner. “PBMs are the advocates for consumers and health plans as we work to keep prescription drugs accessible and affordable.”
