RxBenefits Joins Pharmaceutical Care Management Association

(Washington, D.C.) — The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) today announced that RxBenefits is joining the trade association as its newest member.

“PCMA is proud to represent the pharmacy benefit industry, and the addition of RxBenefits to our membership once again showcases the diversity of pharmacy benefit companies and the variety of offerings available to employers and health plans across the country,” said PCMA President and CEO JC Scott. “The market has consistently shown itself to be dynamic, competitive, and ready to adapt to the evolving needs of patients and plan sponsors.”

Started in 1995, RxBenefits is a technology-enabled pharmacy benefits optimizer (PBO) based out of Birmingham, Alabama. It has more than 1,000 pharmacy pricing, data, and clinical experts working together to deliver prescription benefit savings to employee benefit consultants and their self-insured clients.

With more than 3 million members, RxBenefits brings market-leading purchasing power, independent, human-led clinical solutions, and high-touch service to its customers – ensuring that all plan sponsors, regardless of size, can provide an affordable and valuable pharmacy benefit plan to their employees.

“The RxBenefits model was established to be a disruptive force for good in the pharmacy benefits market. As a PBO, our mission is clear: putting the benefit back in pharmacy benefits. We work on behalf of our clients with an unwavering focus on their specific goals and objectives to deliver a best-in-class benefit that helps them reduce costs while ensuring their members receive superior service,” said Wendy Barnes, RxBenefits’ Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud to join PCMA and look forward to working with its team.”

PCMA continues to lead the effort in promoting pharmacy benefit companies and the proven tools they utilize, which are recognized by consumers, employers, policymakers, and others as key drivers in lowering prescription drug costs and increasing access. As of August 2024, there are more than 70 full-service pharmacy benefit companies representing more than 275 million patients with health insurance.
