(Washington, D.C.) — The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) today is announcing Script Care, Ltd. (SCL) as its newest member company.
“The addition of Script Care to PCMA’s membership once again showcases the diversity of pharmacy benefit companies and the variety of offerings available to employers and health plans across the country,” said JC Scott, PCMA president and CEO. “This is a dynamic PBM marketplace that continues to innovate, evolve, and adjust to changing employer, client, and consumer needs.”
Since 1989, SCL has developed customized pharmacy programs for customers and is the longest-operating, privately held PBM in the industry. In 2015, SCL also gained URAC PBM Accreditation and has continually been granted exemplary marks on subsequent renewal reviews. SCL has succeeded in conserving the limited financial resources of its customers while continually improving access to pharmaceuticals through a nationwide network of pharmacies. Their approach incorporates innovative technological and clinical solutions to improve outcomes and member health for every client.
SCL is made up of SCL Pharmacy Benefit Management, SCL Managed Care, SCL Correctional Services and SCL Outsourced Business Solutions, and works closely with its sister company, SCL 340B CARE. SCL’s corporate offices are in Beaumont, Texas and Austin, Texas. Sales, marketing, and other operations are also located in satellite offices nationwide.
“We’re thrilled to join PCMA at this important time for the PBM industry,” said Tab Bryan, Chief Product Officer of Script Care, Ltd. “Script Care’s clients will always have a clear picture of drug spending and plan performance, and our business perspective provides great value to the association, and we’re excited to work with PCMA.”
PCMA continues to lead the effort in promoting pharmacy benefit companies and the proven tools they utilize. These tools are recognized by consumers, employers, policymakers, and others as key drivers in lowering prescription drug costs and increasing access. There are more than 70 full-service pharmacy benefit companies representing more than 289 million patients with health insurance.
