PCMA Names Veteran Government Affairs Leader Sean Hoffman as New California Leader

(SACRAMENTO, CA) — The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) today announced that Sean Hoffman will join the organization as Senior Director, State Affairs, supporting advocacy and engagement efforts in California.

Hoffman brings more than 20 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, and stakeholder engagement across both the public and private sectors, including leading multi-state advocacy efforts for a Fortune 200 health care company and serving in senior legislative and policy roles throughout California.

“I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of policy, politics, and public impact,” said Sean Hoffman. “I’m excited to join PCMA at a time when states like California are driving so many of the biggest health care conversations in the country. There’s a real opportunity to bring more facts, more transparency, and more balance to those discussions, and I’m looking forward to getting to work.”

“Sean knows how to operate in tough policy environments and build credibility with lawmakers, stakeholders, and coalition partners,” said David Marin, President and CEO of PCMA. “He’s strategic, battle tested and understands how quickly the landscape is shifting in western states. Most importantly, he knows how to turn policy conversations into real advocacy outcomes, and that’s exactly the kind of leadership we’re continuing to build at PCMA.”

In his new role, Hoffman will work alongside member companies, policymakers, and stakeholders to advance state advocacy strategies, identify emerging issues, and support policy priorities across key western markets.

Hoffman earned his law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University.
