In Review: Since Governor Kay Ivey (R) signed SB 252 into law, PCMA has been working with member companies and various offices in Alabama to inform the rulemaking and implementation process. We anticipate the final rule being published later this fall.

Up Next: PCMA continues to meet with the Department of Insurance to further mitigate and navigate challenges with the underlying law. Additionally, PCMA is working with our local coalition partners on a strategy to educate Senate leadership about concerns with the PBM study commissioned by the legislature during the session. At this time, Exouza, the firm retained to do the study, has not spoken with any PBMs, Health Plans, or employers.
