In Review: On December 20, 2024, the Arkansas Legislative Council met to consider Rule 128, a regulation from the Department of Insurance authorizing the Department to collect claims data from health plans and to impose a dispensing fee of no greater than $10.50 with the purpose of ensuring an “adequate network of pharmacies.”  The Committee rejected a recommendation from the Subcommittee on Administrative Rules to disapprove Rule 128 and voted 31-19 to permit implementation of the Rule.

Up Next: PCMA will continue to support members seeking to comply with reporting requirements of Rule 128.  Additionally, the Arkansas General Assembly convenes Monday, January 13, 2025.  Pre-filing has begun and PCMA will monitor for bills of concern.
