Up Next: On Thursday, the Arkansas Insurance Department (AID) will present the emergency version of the new dispensing fee rule proposed to the Executive Committee of the Arkansas Legislative Council. The proposed Rule 128 allows the AID to review pharmacy reimbursements to ensure that they are “fair and reasonable.” After the agenda was set, Senator Jimmy Hickey (R) sent a letter to the committee requesting the rules be withdrawn. In his request, he asks whether the issue is “a true emergency,” questions the fiscal impact submitted by the AID, and questions the vague language used in the emergency rule. PCMA continues to work with the lobbying team on the ground and our allies to address the concerns raised by this proposed rule.
