In Review: On Wednesday, April 24, the Senate Health Committee held a hearing on SB 966 (DOI licensing, ban on spread pricing, AWP, accreditation, reporting). The bill author, Senator Scott Wiener (D), agreed to the committee amendments, which included adding terms and conditions to the AWP provisions, improving the accreditation language, and modifying delinking. However, the amendments also added reporting provisions. PCMA and AHIP testified in opposition to the bill.
Up Next: The bill will be heard next by the Senate Appropriations Committee. While we will continue to strenuously oppose the bill, we expect it to pass in the Senate, so we will be focusing our attention on the Assembly.
