In Review: PCMA sent a revised comment letter on SB 966 to the Assembly Appropriations Committee, highlighting the ambiguity about potentially applying to self-funded plans. PCMA and members of the California team also met with staff from California Health & Human Services on Monday to discuss concerns with the legislation.

Up Next: SB 966 comes up on the Appropriations suspense calendar on August 7. We are still waiting to hear if the Governor’s office will weigh in and on what issues. In the meantime, the team on the ground continues to meet with committee members as well as Assembly leadership. We will continue engaging our coalition partners as well as continuing our digital campaign and grassroots efforts.
