In Review: Last Friday, PCMA was invited to attend a stakeholder meeting set up by the Colorado Association of Health Plans (CAHP) to discuss a bill restricting white bagging in Colorado. The bill is being pushed by the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, and their stated goal is to preserve their existing power to restrict white bagging in their insurance contracts. Members of CAHP and PCMA expressed concerns with the wording of the draft and the value white bagging brings to lower the cost of care. The proponents were receptive to some of our technical concerns but will continue to argue that patient safety is the primary reason for the bill.
