In Review: The Colorado session is in full swing with multiple assaults on the cost-saving tools used by PBMs and health plans. This week, the gold carding and prior authorization restriction bill, HB 1149, will be heard in the House Health & Human Services Committee, and PCMA counsel will provide testimony in opposition to the bill. We continue to work with the Colorado Association of Health Plans to coordinate our work, but to date, the proponents have rejected any compromise. PCMA is also working to limit a white bagging prohibition introduced by a community cancer center. PCMA is awaiting feedback from the Insurance Commissioner on the issues we raised about his attempt to codify his own version of the federal Transparency in Coverage rule, but we are hopeful we may be able to get a significantly scaled-back version of the bill.
