In Review: Last week, PCMA testified in opposition to HB 1149 in the Senate Health & Human Services Committee. Alongside and in coordination with the Colorado Association of Health Plans and AHIP, PCMA highlighted the risks to patient safety, health equity, and affordability that the bill restricting prior authorization would have on the Coloradans who are fully insured. As expected, the bill still passed the committee by a vote of 7-1, but a member of the committee asked important questions and the opportunity for more work on this bill continues.
