In Review: Senate Bill 6, which creates standards for medical and drug prior authorization, has advanced out of the Insurance Committee. PCMA and AHIP testified against the bill last week in a hearing, but despite concerns raised regarding the cost implications of requiring doctors to issue denials on clean claims. The bill could be approved by the Senate as early as April 28 when the legislature returns from break.
