Florida Weekly Update 1.22.24

In Review: Last week, the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) issued a “Pharmacy Benefit Managers Compliance Report” highlighting the work the department has taken in implementing SB 1550. Specifically, the report examines the process to obtain a Certificate of Authority. You can view the report here. In that vein, PCMA is requesting an in-person meeting with OIR staff to discuss their handling of PBM examinations and how they will enforce requirements on Medicare Part D and ERISA plans. On the legislative front, the General Assembly has been focused on moving the respective chambers’ health care packages (SB 7016, 7018, and HB 1549). Outside of those priority bills, other legislation PCMA is monitoring dealing with formulary management, prior authorization, and 340B have not been given much attention at this point.
