Florida Weekly Update 10.7.24

In Review: On September 24, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) distributed a notice to the industry regarding pharmacy benefit managers receiving their certificates of authority. The notice also contained information related to market conduct exams, stating that the process for information requests would begin on October 1. Last week, all PBMs should have received the first request from OIR, which asked for a list of plans a PBM is contracted with no later than October 1.

Up Next: Several members indicated that the turnaround on the first request was unreasonable. While unreasonable, some PBMs have asked for and received extensions on the request, so if your company has not yet done so, please contact OIR to ask for one. Additionally, PCMA will be requesting a meeting with OIR staff on issues identified by members. However, the impending hurricane this week may cause a delay in our meeting request.
