Georgia Weekly Update 2.3.25

In Review: PCMA is tracking a handful of bills in Georgia, with the two most recent introductions being the most pressing. SB 60 expands the reporting requirements passed in 2020 to include GPOs and drug manufacturer fees to the reporting requirements PBMs provide today to the Department of Insurance. The legislation would also mandate a triple fiduciary responsibility on PBMs to the plan, providers, and insureds. HB 196, introduced by Representative Trey Kelly (R), is a reimbursement plus dispensing fee bill that would apply to beneficiaries of the State Health Benefit Plan. The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts reviewed the bill and determined that the annual cost to implement it would be nearly $40 million. PCMA will discuss with our members whether or not PCMA engages in HB 196.

Up Next: PCMA is coordinating with members and will start educating legislators on SB 60.
