In Review: On April 11, SCR 69—a resolution to study PBMs that originated from HB 1509—was amended in the House Committee on Health to significantly revise the intent and structure that was changed in the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services. Key changes included: (1) deleting certain findings related to PBMs; (2) narrowing the scope of the working group to focus solely on identifying the best policies to lower drug costs for patients and improve access to care—removing language related to PBM reform; (3) modifying the composition of the working group; (4) adjusting the priority areas the group is asked to evaluate; (5) including a provision directing the group to avoid seeking or requesting protected information; and (6) updating the resolution’s title to reflect its purpose.
