In Review: HB 596 (ban on spread, transparency, 100% pass-through, reimbursement, white bagging) passed out of committee on a 7-5 vote with several legislators questioning the need and consequences of the bill. LuGina Mendez-Harper from Prime Therapeutics testified in opposition along with health plans. The bill is now on the House floor, where we have been able to garner additional opposition. As a result, proponents have introduced the Senate companion SB 1389.
Up Next: The hearing on SB 1389 will likely be held this week.
