In Review: Last Wednesday, Pritzker’s Department of Insurance released a legislative draft of the Prescription Drug Affordability Act. Some of the provisions include: a ban on spread pricing, a ban on steering, a ban on qualifying anything as a “specialty drug”, dispensing fee increases, numerous reporting requirements, and requirements for market conduct examinations. A day after the draft language was released, PCMA organized a meeting for members with the Governor’s office and the Department of Insurance (DOI) to go over the bill.
Up Next: Staff from both the Governor’s office and the DOI are asking to aggregate the concerns PCMA has with the bill draft.
