In Review: The Health Care Access and Availability Committee held a subject matter hearing last week. Leader Natalie Manley (D) was prepared to ask more balanced questions, and Director Ann Gillespie (D), the new Department of Insurance interim director, did an excellent job of answering factual questions but, of course, delivered Governor J.B. Pritzker’s (D) spin. PCMA, along with representatives from Prime Therapeutics, Cigna, and the CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, provided testimony. CapitalRx, individual independent pharmacies, and the Illinois Pharmacy Association also testified.
