In Review: The Indiana Senate Committee on Health will hear three bills of concern this week. SB 140 includes a dispensing fee of $10.64, with an estimated cost to the state of Indiana of over $290M in excess drug spending in the first year alone. SB 480 would restrict the use of prior authorization to 1% of claims per year and eliminate PA for drugs less than $100. SB 503 would direct the state plan to create a public-private partnership for a single PBM that would be prohibited from owning pharmacies and would be limited to charging an administrative fee. PCMA will be present to testify against all three measures.
Up Next: PCMA will continue to monitor bill drafts as they are introduced.
