In Review: The Senate Committee on Health advanced SB 503, a bill to require the state plan to engage a single PBM through a public-private partnership. The bill was substantially amended in Committee. Under the new language, the public-private PBM partnership would become merely an option for the state personnel department to adopt. The original bill would have required the department to create such a partnership. The bill now moves to the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
Up Next: The Senate is expected to consider SB 3, perhaps as early as today. The bill was improved in the Senate Committee on Health, but PCMA continues to work with the sponsor on outstanding issues with the language. The Senate Health Committee will consider SB 145 this Wednesday, a bill to expand pharmacist scope of practice. This week marks the deadline for several bills of concern to move out of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, including SB 140 (dispensing fee) and SB 480 (prior authorization).
