Indiana Weekly Update 3.31.25

In Review: The House Committee on Insurance heard SB 140 (vertical integration, anti-PBM omnibus) and SB 480 (prior authorization) last Tuesday. PCMA was present to testify in opposition. The Chairman stated during the hearing that it is his intention to remove the vertical integration portion of the bill. We anticipate that the Committee will amend the bill next Tuesday. The Committee also advanced an amended SB 3 (fiduciary duty), which was later passed on the House floor.

Up Next: The Senate is expected to concur with the House changes on SB 3 (fiduciary duty), sending that bill to the Governor’s desk for signature. PCMA and member companies secured substantial changes to the legislation. The bill, however, remains problematic in some areas. The House is expected to concur to the Senate’s changes on HB 1604, which includes a provision on couponing.
