In Review: There were subcommittee hearings for HSB 19 and SSB 1016 which are the prior authorization bills that do not include prescription drugs and are supported by a local insurer but opposed by AHIP and other health plans. Both bills received a favorable recommendation. There was a subcommittee hearing in the Senate Health and Human Services on SSB 1017 (reverse auction). While PCMA is currently monitoring this bill, there was amendment language mentioned but nothing has been shown on paper. We are under the impression that the amendment language will have lots of pharmacy protections. PCMA and member companies approved the PSAO and independent pharmacy language and will look to find a sponsor to be introduced.
