In Review: At the meeting with House Majority Leader Matt Windschitl (R) dealing with the kitchen sink anti-PBM bill (HSB 99), we were told that something needs to pass and we need to come up with suggested language to address the issues of the pharmacists. PCMA circulated suggested language to the members. The Committee Report on SSB 1074 which is the Senate companion to the kitchen sink anti-PBM bill was approved, and the bill was renamed as SF 383. HSB 151 (Pain Treatment with Non-opioid Drugs) was heard in the House Commerce Subcommittee on February 20 and was recommended for passage.
Up Next: PCMA is working with its members to come up with agreed upon suggested language relative to HSB 99/SF 383. This will then need to be discussed with our coalition members which are the Insurance Federation and Iowa Association of Industry and Business.
