Iowa Weekly Update 2.3.25

In Review: Kitchen sink anti-PBM bills were introduced in the House and Senate as (HSB 99/SSB 1074) last week, which includes everything from NADAC+ dispensing fee, PSO rebates, to pharmacy network prohibitions. The House bill is being carried by the House Commerce Committee Chairwoman Shannon Lungren (R) with Representative Brett Barker (R), who is a pharmacist and former active Iowa Pharmacist Association member at the Capitol, as the Bill Manager. The Senate bill is being carried by the Senate Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Mike Klimesh (R). PCMA and its member companies are picking up where we left off last year with the coalition made up of members from the Iowa Association of Business and Industry as well as the Iowa Insurance Federation and their members which consist of associations and companies. A bill analysis, various background information, as well as a fiscal analysis (with an estimated first-year cost of $143M and over $1.7B over the next 10 years) was shared with members.

Up Next: The Subcommittee Meeting on HSB 99 will take place on Wednesday afternoon in House Commerce.
