In Review: Last Tuesday, HF 2488 (prior authorization/cash pay/savings) was amended and passed the Senate. While the bill does not include prescription drugs, it was amended in the Senate to include language on a cash pay/savings concept that was previously defeated (which was SF 2381.) It is our understanding while the providers like the prior authorization language, they do not like the cash pay/savings language.
Up Next: As a reminder, HF 2401, the PBM omnibus bill (ban on spread pricing, any willing pharmacy, MAC), passed the House and is just waiting to be debated on the Senate Floor. The Association of Business and Industry, as well as the Federation, are both recruiting businesses to inform legislators that this legislation is not something they want and will increase costs for them. PCMA also requests its members reach out to their clients and make similar calls.
