Up Next: On February 3, Senator Max Wise (R) (SB 188 bill sponsor) will convene a meeting of interested stakeholders, including representatives from the pharmacists association, to discuss implementing the new law. Noted issues include an inefficient process of gathering information on pharmacy classifications related to the dispensing fee and several complaints already filed with the Department of Insurance that likely include claims for plans governed by ERISA and/or Medicare. Additionally, SB 14 (340B) will be heard in the Senate Health Services Committee on February 5. As drafted, the bill only focuses on discrimination on the part of drug manufacturers towards covered entities. PCMA continues to monitor for any amendments that may loop in the industry.
