In Review: Save Our Benefits re-tooled last week’s grassroots campaign to increase its visibility and grow opposition to SB 444.

Up Next: SB 444 passed the Senate last week, and PCMA anticipates the bill being heard in the House Insurance tomorrow. The Unions, the Louisiana Association of Business, the Department of Insurance (DOI), the Office of Group Benefits (OGB), and the Louisiana Association of Health Plans all plan to speak at the committee tomorrow. The business groups will be opposing the bill, while the DOI and OGB will be raising issues with costs and technical concerns with the bill. Because of this local opposition, PCMA will not speak at the hearing to let the local message carry the day.
