In Review: On Thursday morning, the Legislature completed its work for the session and passed a final budget. The Legislature will return in a few weeks to meet one last final time for “Veto Day.” While a budget was passed, over $1B of funding requests are sitting on the Special Appropriations Table, which is much higher than anticipated. One bill PCMA opposed is LD 1829, which would create a Prescription Drug Affordability Board and allow the Board to set upper payment limits. It currently sits in Special Appropriations pending funding and enactment. It is unclear at this time if there is funding for the bill. PCMA will continue monitoring for updates and discuss a veto strategy if the bill is sent to the Governor’s desk.
