In Review: Last week, PCMA and a member company met with the following 13 legislative offices in Lansing. With the exception of Representative Curt VanderWall (R), who chairs the House Health Committee, all legislators sit on the insurance committee within their respective houses. Here are the takeaways from the meetings:
- Members have been focusing on SB 3, 4, and 5, relating to creating the Prescription Drug Affordability Board
- Republicans in the House are hesitant to support these bills at this time
- Members have been hearing from hospitals and drug manufacturers about 340B
- Some members indicated that drug manufacturers may try to drag PBMs into the debates surrounding the 340B and PDAB bills
- Some offices indicated that when they are taking meetings with other industry stakeholders, namely drug manufacturers and pharmacies, they are speaking ill of PBMs.
