Minnesota Weekly Update 2.18.25

In Review: PCMA and member companies met with Republican Senate Leadership, Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson, Senate Assistant Minority Leader Jordan Rasmusson, and Senate Health and Human Services Ranking Minority Member Paul Utke to discuss PBM issues. In that meeting, we thanked them for squashing the idea of having PBM issues as a priority during a recent caucus meeting. They did voice that they wanted to help rural, small, independent pharmacies, but they also need to hear from the business community about how these issues affect them. PCMA also met with Senator Liz Bolden (DFL), Representative Jeff Backer (R), the Health Finance and Policy Chair, and Senator Lindsey Port (DFL). The following priority bills were introduced: SF 1053 (Coverage for Management and Treatment of Obesity), SF 1340 (prior authorization changes), HF 464 (Medical Assistance Dispensing Fee Increase), HF 690 (Health Plan to Cover Management and Treatment of Obesity), HF 743 (Prohibit Step Therapy for Insulin), and HF 757 (copay accumulator).
