Minnesota Weekly Update 2.26.24

In Review: PCMA discussed SF 2320/HF 2466 (Pharmacist to Rx, Dispense and Administer HIV Drugs and Prohibit PA and Step Therapy) with the Minnesota Retailers Association (Retailers). In 2022, there had been an agreement with the Retailers to try to remove the step therapy language altogether, and if that did not work, PCMA and its members had agreed upon language to allow for prior authorization in certain instances. PCMA shared that language with the Retailers last week and was informed that they had a meeting with the Senate sponsor last Friday. The following new bills were introduced last week: HF 3919 (Adding Wholesalers to Prescription Drug Price Transparency Reporting), SF 4147 (Require Wholesale Drug Distributors to Report), SF 4065/HF 4100 (Copay Accumulator), SF 3970/HF 4012 (Coverage for Management and Treatment of Obesity), and SF 3879 (Gross Revenue Tax).

Up Next: On Tuesday, PCMA has a meeting scheduled with House Commerce Chairman Zach Stephenson (D), and on Wednesday, HF 3578 (Prior Authorization/Gold Carding) will be heard in the House Commerce Finance Policy Committee. Also, on Tuesday, PCMA has scheduled a meeting with Vice Chair Judy Seeberger (D), of the Senate Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee.
