In Review: The House of Representatives is still in dysfunction with the walk-out of the DFL legislators still going on, and another lawsuit was filed last week by the Republicans. There was a special election for the open Senate seat, which, as expected, was won by a DFL candidate. Once the Senator-elect is sworn in sometime this week, it will give the majority back to the Democrats. The Senate has been operating via a power-sharing agreement with the Republicans since the start of the legislative session. The following bills have been introduced: SF 628 (copay accumulator) and SF 731 (Prohibit Prior Authorization for Less than $100). PCMA met with House Health and Human Services Policy Committee Co-Chair Robert Bierman (DFL) last week via Zoom.
Up Next: PCMA will be meeting this morning with Representative Jeff Backer (R), who will either be the Health Finance and Policy Co-Chair or Minority Lead. In addition, meetings are scheduled with Senator Liz Boldon (DFL) on February 10 and a group meeting on February 11 with Senators Mark Johnson (GOP Leader) (R), Paul Utke (currently Co-Chair of Health and Human Services Committee) (R), and Jordan Rasmusson (R) on February 11.
