In Review: The Prescription Drug Affordability Board met on Thursday, May 30, for their regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting focused on the Executive Director job posting and the Board By-laws. There was also a presentation by the Department of Health. It was noted that the Board does not want to run afoul of the open meeting laws. It should also be noted that it appears the Board wants “Public Comment” PRIOR to the meeting, and it should be submitted via the link on the Department of Commerce website. At the end of the meeting, the Advisory Council members in attendance introduced themselves. Unfortunately, the statute does not clearly state how the Council should work with the Board, so the Council will need to begin its own meetings. The PhRMA representative offered to run-point and get them organized.
Up Next: The next meeting (which will be via Zoom instead of WebEx due to technical issues) is scheduled for June 20. The Board scheduled additional upcoming meetings on July 23 and September 12, all of which will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
