Mississippi Weekly Update 1.30.26

In Review: The bill-introduction deadline was last week, and several new PBM bills were introduced. The most problematic bills are Senator Daniel Parks’ (R) SB 2575 and Representative Donnie Scoggins’ (R) HB 1672. Senate Bill 2575 and HB 1672 are companion measures that have expanded their scope this year to include delinking and forced pharmacy closure provisions. PCMA and member company lobbyists have been meeting daily with House and Senate leadership to determine if these bills have backing. In our conversations to date, we keep hearing the same thing from leadership: that they are not inclined to move the bills. However, we are keeping our lobbyist active daily, and coalition partners are engaged.

Up Next: Tuesday, February 3, is the committee of origin deadline. We will then have a better lay of the land and a clearer picture of the next steps.
