In Review: Last week was the bill-filling deadline in Mississippi, and the bills that PCMA is tracking jumped from the high teens to 34, with many bills finally getting printed as late as this past Thursday. PCMA is still analyzing all the new bill introductions and working with House and Senate Leadership to identify which bills are a priority. The Pharmacists introduced four companion bills like last year’s kitchen sink proposal, but they do not include the NADAC + reimbursement mandate or are applicable to ERISA plans. The prior authorization bill was agreed to in the Senate with the House amendments and has been transmitted to the Governor. PCMA is engaging on bills related to 340B, importation, white bagging, step therapy, the pharmacy proposal, audits, frozen formulary, and others in Mississippi.
Up Next: The next week and a half will be busy committee weeks in Mississippi as bills need to be voted out by their respective committees by March 5, or they are done for the year.
