In Review: PCMA is engaged on nearly 40 bills in Mississippi, with most of our attention focused on two key topics, debated in about 10 bills. First, Speaker Jason White’s (R) HB 1123, a narrow ban on spread and new transparency requirements for PBMs, PhRMA, and PSAOs, will most likely be assigned to the Senate Committee on Public Health. Additionally, companion measures related to white bagging have passed out of their respective committees in the House and Senate. We are working closely with the Mississippi Health Plan Association to have an amendment adopted to the bills that would require hospitals to agree to rates and reimbursements.
Up Next: Tuesday, February 4, is the first committee deadline in Mississippi. PCMA anticipates several PBM-related bills will fail to be heard by the deadline, significantly narrowing the number of issues PCMA is currently tracking.
