In Review: Last week, PCMA worked with the Mississippi Economic Council and the Mississippi Manufacturers Association on language to improve HB 1123, which was stripped and amended heavily in committee. When the bill came to the floor in the Senate, there was robust discussion on possible amendments and a fiscal note since the bill now included the SHBP. Both efforts failed on the Senate floor, and the bill passed with four members voting no.

Up Next: PCMA and our collation partners are working with House leaders to send the bill to a conference in an effort to mitigate the impact that HB 1123 will have on our industry and plan sponsors. We are presenting House leaders with multiple options to try and force the conference committee.
