In Review: PCMA has been working with members, coalition partners, and others to mitigate HB 1265, which was amended on the Senate floor without notice by Senate Insurance Chairman Walter Michel (R). As discussed, the floor amendment completely gutted the underlying bill and inserted most of the language the pharmacists had requested in several measures that failed earlier in the session. As of today, we have not yet seen the conference committee report but have been told it will be significantly watered down and potentially move regulatory authority of PBMs from the Board of Pharmacy to the Department of Insurance; more to come.
Up Next: PCMA and our coalition partners continue to apply pressure to all members of the legislature, including leadership, and are preparing a veto strategy if the conference report is not what we have been told.
