Montana Weekly Update 4.21.25

In Review: House Bill 740 passed the House on third reading (63-35) and is heading to the Governor’s desk. Efforts are now fully focused on securing a veto. Stakeholders, including PCMA, GoodRx, Chamber of Commerce, and allied employer groups, are coordinating outreach to the Governor’s office, emphasizing the bill’s cost impacts, ERISA concerns, and threats to affordable benefit design. Meanwhile, the study bill, SJ 33, continues to advance, and other prior authorization bills are in conference committee with coordinating language tied to HB 398 and HB 399. The Legislature is expected to adjourn by late April, with property tax relief and final budget passage remaining top priorities.
