In Review: PCMA, AHIP, and member company representatives met with Deputy Commissioner D.J. Bettencourt of the New Hampshire Insurance Department to discuss SB 555, a 50% point-of-sale rebate bill, and SB 353, a bill to require copay coupons to be applied to a patient’s deductible. The Deputy Commissioner agrees these bills are bad policy and will raise costs. The Senate Commerce Committee previously passed both bills and they now head to the House Commerce Committee. The Deputy Commissioner agreed to meet with the House Commerce Chair and House leadership to discuss the costs associated with these bills. A hearing date has been set for SB 555 for Tuesday, April 30, and PCMA plans on testifying.
